Our Little Sweethearts First Big Portrait Session!

So you must know that I have been dieing to photograph my very own little baby girl since the day we found out we would be adopting our little Libby so now that the time has come I really wanted to get it right. I took a few props with me to Florida and did get a couple really cute awake shots of her down there which I will post on here one day soon but she would not sleep for me for a photo shoot so I decided to wait until we got home and I had all the goods for a real session!

It took me a few days to recover from the trip but besides being over tired which I am assuming is my new normal with an infant in the house again I am feeling great and so, so happy to be home so last night I decided that today would be the day to try another session. I have been scouring the web for adorable newborn portrait ideas for little girls and have been getting so excited! I started out at around 9:30am by stripping Libby down to just her diaper and put on her diaper cover and fed her so she would be nice and full and happy. Libby is normally an amazing sleeper so I assumed she would be out within a half hour and we would be on our way to some beautiful portraits. Well I was wrong, she did fall asleep quickly but as soon as I put her down for her first shot she was wide awake and happy as could be. So I got more awake pictures of her over the next hour, which I love but I was determined to get those sweet sleeping shots that you can only get when they are this tiny and new. So after a diaper change and another feeding I tried again, this time I got one set in and then she woke up about 5 minutes later and would not fall back to sleep. This went on for several hours with lots of diapers, another feeding and some rocking and then finally it happened, she slept and I got what I wanted! To say I am excited would be an understatement! I finally have beautiful portraits of my own little girl and I am totally smitten! Now to decide what walls to put them on! There are lots more but these were just a few that I got to edit today! I hope you enjoy them.
