Washi Tape Flower Jar

I had so much fun making these! I have seen lots of different versions of the washi tape jar but wanted to make it my own. I am so in love with washi tape right now, it is such a wonderful product to use and makes almost everything cuter! You can do these in any color scheme you like and really funk them up to fit in your space. I bought a whole box of canning jars because I wanted to make a bunch for gifts but you can also just use a recycled jar, just make sure you clean it out well first if it had food in it because it is not so easy to clean once it is covered in washi tape.

Step 1: Pick jar of desired size and cream or white spray paint. I have tried a lot of different brands of spray paint and find that Valspar works best for spraying jars. You can get this at most hardware stores. Spray the outside of the jar until it is completely covered in paint. I usually spray mine once, let it dry and then spray it again to make sure it is covered well.

Step 2: Once your jar is completely dry choose some favorite coordinating washi tape and a doily. Simply wrap the washi tape around the jar layering it to the desired look. Tape your doily into the layers of tape on the front of the jar. Once finished I put a cute little 3-dimensional butterfly on the front but you could put a flower or any other fun embellishment.

Now you have a pretty vase to put your flowers, pencils or pens in! These are a great quick and inexpensive gift too!

Pin this idea for later!
